The Justice Theater Project (JTP) is currently accepting applications for the 15th summer of youth theater camps at Clare Hall on the Campus of St. Francis of Assisi, Leesville Road, Raleigh.?Weeks of July 9, 26 and 23
From a humble beginning with nine students, to a packed house each summer with 80 campers, 20 high school and college age counselors and a professional staff of 10, this camp fills its roster each summer by late May.
Mornings are spent rotating in age appropriate small groups to youth certified yoga, creative drama, art, music, and film studies. In the afternoons youth run the show with a staff of some of the best music, theater and dance instructors in the Triangle. Deb Royals, JTP Artistic Director, leads the team that includes nationally recognized dance instructor Freddie Lee Heath, local voice coach Alison Lawrence (who has mentored both Clay Aiken and Scotty McCreery), Yoga for Youth specialists, and local theater favorites Barbette Hunter, Marjorie Hazelton and Terra Hodge. Technical theater will be under the supervision of Carrboro High drama instructor Brett Stegall.
This summer the camp will culminate in a fully mounted production of ?Aladdin, Jr.?.
