The Benedict College School of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math announces STEM Week. The college will highlight its innovative programs with various activities throughout the week, including an All College Assembly on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Antisdel Chapel on the College?s main campus. The Keynote Speaker will be Lauren M. Berrings Davis, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Industrial and System Engineering, North Carolina A&T University, Greensboro, NC.
Dr. Davis received her Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering in 2005 from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC. Her area of concentration was Production Management and System Analysis & Optimization. Her research area is largely focused on analyzing the impact of emerging trends (increased availability of information, disruptions caused by supply shortages, and natural or man-made disasters) on optimal stocking decisions within a supply chain.
Benedict College will also host the South Carolina Academy of Science 2013 Annual Meeting on Saturday, April 13, 2013. The theme is Health Challenges: Raising the Bar. More than 500 graduate, undergraduate, and high school students from all over the state will converge on the Benedict College campus to present their research projects.
