On the songs charts, Blake Shelton remained second with Boys 'Round Here with Pistol Annies and friends helping out. Hunter Hayes' I Want Crazy stayed third. Luke Bryan was fourth with Crash My Party. Darius Rucker was fifth with Wagon Wheel.
Brett Eldredge broke into the top 10 with Don't Ya at number 8, up 3. The Band Perry moved back up the chart with DONE. at number 10, up 2. The song had previously been in eighth.
Florida Georgia Line has 3 songs in the top 20 with Get Your Shine On at 16 after 37 weeks on the chart. The duo's third sing, Round Here, is now at 17, up 4.
Billy Currington was at 21 with Hey Girl, up 4. Eli Young Band debuted at 23 with Drunk Last Night. Thomas Rhett's It Goes Like This, was up 4 to 24.
On the album chart, Shelton was second with "Based on a True Story..." Hayes was third with his self-titled disc, one ahead of Rucker's "True Believers." "NOW That's What I Call Country Volume 6," a compilation disc of hits, was fifth.
Kacey Musgraves was at 12, up 4, on the album chart with "Same Trailer Different Park." Bryan was 14th, up 3, with "tailgates & tanlines." Jason Aldean was at 17, up 5, with "Night Train." Miranda Lambert was at 22 with "Four the Record," up 4. Randy Houser's "How Country Feels" was up 3 to 25. Brantley Gilbert was 27th with "Halfway to Heaven," up 5. "NOW That's What I Call a Country Party" was at 29, up 4.
Lee Brice was at 30 with "Hard 2 Love," up 5. Gary Allan's "Set You Free" was 31st, up 5. Easton Corbin was at 36 with "All Over the Road," up 3. The Mavericks closed out the top 40 with "In Time," up 27.
On the Bluegrass Albums chart, Steve Martin and Edie Brickell were first with "Love Has Come For You." Steve Curtis Chapman was second with "Deep Roots," Old Crow Medicine Show third with "Carry Me Back," Steep Canyon Rangers fourth with "Nobody Knows You" and Trampled by Turtles fifth with "Stars And Satellites."
On the overall top 200, Florida Georgia Line was 6th, Shelton 15th, Hayes 16th, Rucker 18th and "NOW" 24th.

Just a few weeks after releasing his very fine new CD, "Still Fighting the War," the former Maine resident was in his old backyard. And the comfort showed. Cleaves moved to Austin 21 years ago and has absorbed some of the Texas milieu in style and song. In fact, he recalls Bruce...???? Concert Review: Telluride Bluegrass Festival 2013: day 4 - bidding farewell?? The problem with multi-day festivals is that they always seem to fly by too quickly. Elation turns to exhaustion. Anticipation becomes the realization that all things, music included, must eventually come to an end. It's anticlimactic in a very real way; after witnessing such great sounds each of the preceding three days, it's hard to reach...????

Last fall, singer/songwriter Steve Forbert dropped the 14th studio album of his 35-year career, the impeccable "Over With You." Critics recognized the album as a return to the form Forbert displayed on his earliest works - 1978's stripped back and personal "Alive on Arrival" and 1979's more lushly produced and commercially accessible "Jackrabbit Slim" - but the fact is that Forbert has never strayed far from their basic folk/rock tenets....????

New Yorker Willie Nile has had a career renaissance in the last half-dozen years, with more music and recognition during that time than in the almost 30 preceding years. It's long overdue, as Nile has been an under-the-radar power pop and rootsy rock icon since his earliest albums in the 1980's. Nile is all over the map on this new set, taking its title seriously as he barrels through a musical travelogue.????

Blind, Crippled & Crazy
It would seem obvious that a new recording by a band that hasn't recorded together in 40 years could hardly be considered that particular group's "new album." The new Iggy and the Stooges album is great, but it's clearly not the sequel to 1973's "Raw Power. The same paradigm should have held true for the new Delbert & Glen album, "Blind, Crippled and Crazy."????

Still Fighting the War
Few artists exude pain in their voices the way Slaid Cleaves can, and there are moments during his strong new full-length, "Still Fighting the War," when he seems a little like the male equivalent to Lucinda Williams. With Rust Belt Fields, Cleaves speaks up for most anybody that's been laid low be America's recent recession, from those dealing with home foreclosure to the ones laid off from their jobs.????

Given the fact that Jason Isbell opts for solo billing this time around, it might be assumed that last year's "Live From Alabama," recorded with the 400 Unit, was the band's swan song of sorts. That is, unless one considers the fact that drummer Chad Gamble and keyboardist Derry deBorja are still along for the ride, albeit sans the band billing.????
