Sony goes black and white in Central Europe

Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Networks has announced plans to launch local language versions of AXN Black and AXN White in Central Europe.

On air from October, they will be available in Poland, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Slovakia and replace AXN Sco-Fi and AXN Crime, incorporating the best sci-fi and crime series from those channels into their schedules alongside their newly expanded programming offer.

Commenting on the upcoming launch, John Rossiter, general manager, SPT Networks, Central Europe, said: ?We?re thrilled to introduce two new AXN branded channels for Central Europe. The move reflects our commitment to providing the very best products and content to meet the demands of cable operators and audiences. This latest addition significantly expands our offer with fast-paced action heroes on AXN Black and inspiring, character-led story telling on AXN White.?

The new channels will join a portfolio in Central Europe that also includes AXN, AXN Spin and Animax.
